The Parable Behind the Design

The smallest seed a farmer handles goes into the ground, and what comes up is large enough for birds to nest in its branches.

Jesus is not describing a plant. He is describing how the Kingdom actually arrives — not with size and noise, but with something so small it is easy to overlook, growing into shelter for people who had nothing to do with the planting.

It is the parable people reach for when their faith feels too small to count. Matthew 13:31-32 says the size at the start was never the point.
